Vaccination against inspiration?

I got back and read through the sunday times - always a good few hours worth of quality reading - one story stood out in particular - that of the possibility of vaccinations against of mind bending substances - that you could be injecting, snorting or smoking as much as you like - but the chemicals carrying their wily ways to infiltrate your brainwaves will be picked off like X-wings attacking the Death Star with its shields up - the high never gets to kick in - the gas to the ride is killed before it can begin.

Now if we are talking about those that go over the edge - into the land of alcoholism and addiction - the destruction that can come from an over indulgence and in turn, a dedication to ruin - then yes, cracking idea - but the aspect of parents being able to vaccinate children against the effects of illegal substances? - this for me opens a huge kettle of fish - takes them out and puts them inside a can of worms - worms which are removed and then placed in the aforementioned kettle...... yeah, I never got those clichéd sayings either.... kettle of fish? what the fuck? it’s a “different kettle of fish”? why? what are fish doing in a fecking....

anyways…
Sure, this is not an easy subject to have a politically correct opinion of - that mind bending substances being banned to the point of extinction is a bad thing - that you don’t even give them a sporting chance - in the eyes of sense and sensibility and the law in general - to anyone who has played and lost or knows and loved anyone that has - even thinking about what you would tell your own children - it’s a great idea - take the danger away before it even bears its fangs - think of the amount of crime caused by drug related obsession - governments will be....
But while this is indeed pub logic - the place I have just returned from in fact - I’m just asking you to consider the aspect that people have their own battles to fight in life - and the world of mind altering substances is one of them - gambling in a way - what do you win? - well you win some pretty god damn good nights out - experiences never to be mirrored - feelings impossible via conventional living - but sure, you gotta know when to fold or cash your chips - and that doesn’t apply to the average bear - but for some it does.... what do you lose? well very possibly everything - but with vaccination at birth you are denying those warriors to even step to the field of play.
What I’m trying to say is that when you look across the history of culture you see many works and artists inspired by recreational drugs and addictions - Martin Scorsese was off his face for most of the 70’s and early 80’s, Absinthe and Hemmingway, The Beatles in their Yellow Submarine, Hunter S Thompson in general, Jimmy Fucking Hendrix.....
Paul McCartney on drugs - Sgt Pepper
Paul McCartney off drugs - The Frog Song
You’d think that would be the other way round
God Damn it.
Should control over the people start before they even have a chance to discover what their demons might be? never mind actually fight them? Drugs don’t equal creativity - they don’t create on their own - but they surely do inspire and open doors to it every once in a while....
Doesn’t being allowed to walk the line and choose your battles - dip your toe in the lava lake of Hades - the eye opening and in turn, possibly soul sucking, world of enlightenment through the means of monkey business - this makes folk who they are in a way - dark side of the moon and come back again.... laws and warnings are there to dissuade you from the dark side.... but sometimes people want to taste the forbidden and find out why they aren’t allowed to go where they are told not to..... understand for ourselves rather than take it on the word of those trying to control us.
Wet Paint. Don’t touch.
Really?
You’ll learn.
At least you’ve got the chance to learn anyway…
It’s all a bit Orwellian if you ask me...
